Bamboo is actually in the "grass" family and is one of the fastest growing species on the planet. Bamboo rejuvenates quickly, growing to full maturity in 5 to 6 years and is truly sustainable. Carbonized color is achieved through a steam and heating process, not with any stains or dyes. Carbonizing gives Bamboo a richer, caramel color with brown graining.
