Wood
Flooring International's
High Wear Anti-Scratch U.V. Finish utilizes state of
the art finish technology. We now use ceramic
coatings, which are made from a mixture of suspended
aluminum oxide and ceramic particles in a standard U.V.
acrylic urethane resin. These particles provide
superior abrasion resistance which is approx. 7 times
greater than standard U.V. finishes. With these particles in
suspension, this finish is "rougher" to the touch
and less "clear" than the standard U.V. finish, and
it is also difficult to re-screen and recoat a floor which
has Ceramic top coats. In the past, we used the
Ceramic finish in both the base and top coats.
Now however, to address the finish
roughness/clarity issue and the problems
re-screening and recoating Ceramic finishes, Wood
Flooring International is
using the newest finish breakthrough, Anti-Scratch
Top Coats. Utilizing new resins which are
extremely hard, but unlike the Ceramic finish are
smooth and allow re-screening and recoating, Anti
Scratch Top Coats offer the best of all world's.
These Anti Scratch top coats provide a smoother
finish which is scratch resistant, allows for
re-screening and recoating and still offers the
superior abrasion resistance/wearability with the
ceramic layer an integral part of the composite
finish to help prevent finish wear through to the
bare wood.
Most of our pre-finished offerings are now using
Ceramic technology in the lower layers and
Anti-Scratch top coats.
