Description:

Timborana is a beautiful, teak like species, with fine graining which is used for fine furniture and flooring.

Color Range & Color Change:

Color Range: Timborana ranges from a straw tan color to a medium nut brown color with developing reddish highlights.

Color Change: When fresh cut, Timborana is a light tan yellow color which darkens to a tan brown color. Then, over time, reddish tones develop. This process occurs quickly in direct sunlight and by oxidation alone over a period of 6 to 8 months.

Hardness:

Timborana 125 % as hard as red oak ( 1570 on the Janka scale vs. 1260 for red oak)
